Palácio Chiado

History, good food & music and a beautiful atmosphere: the well-known Palácio Chiado is already a cool, trendy and mandatory stop for those who pass through the historic center of Lisbon. With the SALLA Bar and the renovated Restaurant, the iconic palace has its doors open, it is a relaxed atmosphere for those looking for an escape from the routine.

For those who enter the imposing hall of the ground floor, the new Bar SALLA is welcoming because it is in a totally different space where the classic meets the unlikely, making it a mandatory stop of the city. The SALLA bar menu combines leading figures with a music element.

This is one of the novelties to highlight, where the best deep house music in the capital is now present three days a week (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) from 21h00, with resident Dj’s and guests. For those looking for a meeting place with friends, SALLA is the perfect place where signature cocktails introduce some contemporary snacks. In a relaxed atmosphere, without a dress code or reservations this is the new hotspot of Lisbon where one can just show up and enjoy.

The noble room of Palácio Chiado

By the main staircase, already on the 1st floor, between classical architecture, stained glass and majestic frescoes we can already hear the resident DJ of the renovated Ballroom of the Restaurant. This is the noble room of Palácio Chiado, now designed, decorated and signed by architect Inês Moura. For those who like the sublime without pretensions, the restaurant offers an experience where the five senses gather at the table, in a space that promises to create memories and unforgettable moments.

Chef Manuel Bóia

Both the restaurant and bar menu are also presented, a tribute of chef Manuel Bóia to Portuguese and international cuisine, made with simplicity and courage. Between classic and contemporary fish and seafood dishes, timeless meat dishes and unique desserts that transport us across borders, this is an experience that requires no ages or genres.

Palácio Chiado the hotspot of the city.

From room to room, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9pm, resident DJs promise to unite this space with the best music, for those looking to challenge the simplicity of a dinner. Additionally, the restaurant’s  upper floor also has the Sala Quintela, an art gallery, curated by Matilde Corrêa Mendes. This room, in addition to receiving temporary exhibitions by several Portuguese artists also has the capacity for 15 people and can be used for meals and / or reserved for private events.

In a magnificent universe of art and architecture, an unexpected musical style joins the good food and drink, making Palácio Chiado the hotspot of the city where each decides its rules.

NEW WINTER CHARTER 2022

In a tribute to the products of the coming season, The Palácio Chiado recently launched the winter  menu, where memory and tradition are the ingredients that, in the right measure, make this new letter an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Main dishes

The main dishes have also been updated with typically seasonal products: beurre-noisette turbot fillet, wild mushroom risotto with winter truffle and  other options.

To highlight the ex libris, which do not require presentations and that move from the old letter: the tiger shrimp with shrimp risotto and asparagus with lime, the steer loin to the Baron and the matured entrecôte (30 days) grilled in charcoal, fried toothpick potato and creamy sauce with truffle.

Inspiration comes from all over the world

Manuel Bóia, Chef of The Palácio Chiado, points out: “In this autumn/winter menu the products of the season once again have primacy. Chestnuts, winter truffle, romanesque, cauliflower… This is also a time for comforting dishes, which remind me of everything that is familiar, such as the oxtail and the goat.

Portuguese influence is always present, but inspiration comes from all over the world. I like to mix concepts and create dishes that combines comfort with creativity.”
